Narrowest rims to fit an AW11?

Hi all-

what would be the NARROWEST alloy rims out there to fit an AW11 MR2? (1985, if it makes a difference)

I don't care too much about appearance or if they are OEM Toyota, OEM somebody else or aftermarket, as long as availability is good and price isn't nuts. Would also prefer something with the flattest profile possible (not spoked) and reasonably lightweight, but the big thing is the width. The stock wheels on it are 5 1/2" width.

My MR2 is an electric conversion, and I am trying to minimize the rolling resistance. all else equal, narrower tires roll more easily than wide ones do.

Thanks!

Brian

You've built an electric MR2 ?
Sounds like you need front drag racing rims... maybe find some from some extreme economy car with correct bolt pattern.
How about posting some pics and info on your project ?
It's very interesting..

link to the car on the sidebar or around the middle of the main page.

Dragster rims.... if they can take the weight that might work...

update:

turns out some 1991 honda CRX alloys are a 5" width, have a very smooth profile, and have the same offset and bolt pattern as the MR2. Managed to find a decent set of those, so my electric toyota has honda wheels now.

why not get Donuts? lol those are like 4" wide....ah but they weigh a ton.

just get a large 17" aluminum rim, with skinny tires. If you put them side by side...The tires weigh alot more then the rims. So you want to have as little rubber as possible. that will save weight anyway.

If they weren't flat faced but they were significantly lighter then it would be a bigger benefit, especially considering its rotating mass.
