2nd Generation Need help?

Hey everyone I have a problem with my 93 mr2 turbo. I want to know how can you tell when you will need to rebuild your turbo.

Today i noticed something different with my car and i dont think its good. When I am driving and on a gear and reach around 4-5rpm my car seems to like cut out or boggle or however you say it and the bov goes off even though im still on the gas. Plus it seems like the turbo is spooling up much earlier because it use to spool up at 2500rpm and now it seems like its spooling up somewhere around 2000rpm. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and help me out... Thanks

I would replace all of your ignition components first. Spark plugs, plug wires, distributor rotor and cap. 3SGTE's have a tendency to eat through ignition parts.

I changed all the ignition components and still the same thing. my cousin told me that when he was driving behind me and my car started cutting out he saw a little bit of black smoke coming out...any ideas of what the problem could be?

Your BOV could be failing...releasing compressed air before it reaches the throttlebody. The AFM has already sent the signal/fuel for the measured air and the engine is not getting the air because it was released by the BOV. You would end up with a very rich/wet fuel mix.
Generally , the CT26 spools at about 3300rpm's. Spooling earlier may indicate a pressure leak.Maybe the BOV.
Just a thought and worth checking out.

BOV should be closed at idle and when accelerating. Check all hose's and vacuum lines between the AFM and throttle body. Also check hose's to BOV, wastegate actuator and turbo.
