Importing an MR2

Has anyone on this forum imported a japanese MR2 to the states?
I really want a rhd model, I've seen them registered for public roads, I just can't find any info on it. Any help would be wonderful!

you dont really want to open that can of worms. importing a car can be a nightmare. For one of my business classes I did a whole write up on importing a celica gt-four vs buying one stateside and making the changes. If you MUST have rhd, just buy the needed parts and then the few visuals like lights and stuff and do a conversion.

Have you had any experiance driving a rhd car? I drove my friends mail truck before, and a rhd imprezza, its a wierd experiance since your so used to diving in a certian way, your brain thinks it has to be on a certian spot on the road. some nub in scottsdale, rich mommy and daddy bought him a skyline r33, side swiped two cars inside a month. also, some states have wierd laws or blue laws so dbl check with your local department of transportation.

yeah, I've checked with DOT in FL and you can do it. The cars are just so cheep in Japan with so few miles. I've seen quite a few people with them for sale for not unreasonable prices, so it can't be that expensive.
