I need help installing my cold air intake.

Here is my situation. Before my mr2 i had a Pontiac pariessiene (basically an 84 caprice) With that thing the air filter was easy to find since it was gigantic and right on top of the engine. My problem here is while i was away at school and with out my mr2 i decided to order a cheap cold air intake off of eBay. Well it is at my house and I am embarrassed to say that i can't find where to put it. I know that is really lame but i want to get it on before my first ever auto cross session this Sunday. Can any one help me out. Its the standard 89 NA 1600 twin cam.

Hey Im in MA too. What part of MA are you in. I can help you with that. If not....what brand intake is it, and can u take a picture or show a picture of it? Cause MK1 stock intakes use MAF sensors which require a special plate adapter to put on a cone filter or anything.

I'm in Lynnfield MA, its 15 minutes from Boston. I am going to be at Fort Devens this Sunday for auto cross. If i can figure out how to post pictures up i will but at the moment i can not figure it out (i don't do forums that much). The cold air intake is a cheap-o and honestly i am not sure if it is considered a true cold air intake. It is a cone air filter and it came with the tubing and brackets. I bought it off of eBay. It doesn't have a sensor. Also i like the body kit on your car, how much was it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOT...QQcmdZViewItem

If you can't find it the air intake , you shouldn't be working on it. Let Brian do it for you...

Yea what you have there is just a Filter and some flex piping. And unfortunatley you are gonna need the special plate that attatches to the MAF and makes a round output for a cone filter.

I hate to tell you this, if you payed that much + shipping for that, you would have been better off going to Home depot buying Dryer Ductwork and they getting one of those cheap $14 Cone Filters at Autozone....woulda been cheaper.

Anyway, This here is cheaper, and it comes with that plate Im talking about http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AIR-INTAKE-FILTER-MAF-ADAPTER-TOYOTA-MR2-CELICA-86-94-G_W0QQitemZ270172426759QQihZ017QQcategoryZ33659QQs sPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem.

The Air Filter setup you have is Universal even though they say its for MR2's....It would work on any Honda, or Toyota......I say sell it to some kid to get your money back on it.

Dont be afraid to PM me, I can always find time to help a fellow MR2 owner.

(Oh and the Engine I have now is a 3SGTE, I swapped engines.....so that is a totally different Throttlebody)
