USA Cold intake/intake questions

What's going on TN!

I'm thinking about getting a cold air intake for my 91 mr2 3SGTE
I was looking at some filters with the MAF adapter on ebay for about $10 + shipping and I also so the K&N intake kit and that was $136.50
with shipping included. what do you guys think should I go with a cheap $20 intake kit or should I go with the $136,50 K&N intake kit, does it make a HUGE difference, if any>?

won't make much of a difference. a simple $50 boost controller will net you more power, it just won't sound as cool. also, think about a downpipe if you're not worried about passing emissions testing.

if you're set on an intake, i'm a fan of the Apexi, it's about $120. none of them are any more a cold air intake than the factory setup. there's an inlet into the airbox that goes straight to the left side vent.

more or less your paying for R&D of how to shape the pipe, just get something smooth, and a 20 cone filter, bingo! cheap intake. lol

I spent $40.00 on a K & N cone filter, then spent $10.00 on the Ebay AFM adapter. Works great. Good throttle response and I can better hear the turbo spooling.
If you are still using the AFM, you will not need nor have room for any air intake piping.
