Can Someone Figure This Out...!!!??

hi everyone im 19 and have 2 mr2s...love them..neway i have a problem that i cant figure out so far..so her we go.....

ill start from the beginning, bought a 00 mr2 spyder that had a knock and smoked bad, 77k miles.. so i work at a toyota dealership and aquired a 1zz motor with 30k miles on it that took in water..i pulled the motor completly apart and found that the #1 rod was bent..it was bent enough to wear at the bottom of the cylindar the rod hit and scored it about an inch or less long at the very bottom of the cylindar..it didnt seem to bad other than apearance bcause the piston skirt was not marked at all..there was a tiny mark that was barely noticable but def usable on the skirt..all other rods made TDC..so i decided to rebuild that motor and use it for my spyder..so finnally i had the motor built and and swaped out the bad motor and put this rebuilt motor in..(oh and i did hone the cylindars making sure there were no burs or nething from the #1 cylindar being scored)...after getting everything hooked up i fired it up..wen it first fired up it sounded like the vvti controler was rattling due to no oil pressure running through it at first( i did fill the oil filter up with oil and pulled the efi fuse and cranked for a lilttle to try and build oil pressure.) ....it only rattled for 1-2 seconds then went away..then i shut off and restarted and it sounded ok..let the motor rev at about 3k for 15 min for a break in and then let idle till i shut it down...so heres my probelm, now wen i start it up i hear this knocking noise..its loudest after the car is warmed up and setting at idle..the weird thing to me is when i give it gas the knock goes away instead of getting louder or knocking faster.....a few things i tried...while warmed up and at idle pull injector plugs to hear for change in noise..none found..took off acc belt and ran..still noisey at idle..and finnaly if its siting at idle and i turn the ac on the knock goes away..it seems like netime the motor is under load it goes away..ill also took the valve cover and checked the valve clearance and they were all within spec

if you used a motor that had a bent rod, then there's a chance that it had a spun bearing...... if you didn't plasti-gage it and check clearances (and used a std size bearing) then it could have a spun bearing that right now is only making noise at low load/idle....

the a/c doesn't put a 'load' on the engine per say, but the electronics have an idle-up that just bumps the idle speed of the engine

hmm..i checked all the rod bearings..and they were fine no discoleration or scoring..even the one with the bent rod the bearing looked fine..if it would of spun then there would of been damage to the beaing..and no i didnt plastic gauge it but did put new rod and rod bearing in for #1 and changed all rings..and as for the ac i know it bumps up the idle but its def under 1k rpms id say around 800 or 900 maybe id have to look again to b sure but it definitly gets rid of the knock once the a/c turns on...it just seems like if ur on the throttle at all which is taking it slightly higher than idle it will go away...
