Ad says $8500. I certainly hope that isn't your ad. You snake you. There isn't a person on this earth who gets after market parts and doesn't beat the shit out of their car.

Looks good on the outside. At least from what you can see in the pics. $8,500.00 is pricey.
$6,500 Might be OK. -Thats low mileage if it's true. Kinda hard to believe for a car thats 16 going on 17 years old. Like Company flow stated-There isn't a person on this earth who gets after market parts and doesn't beat the shit out of their car..
You need to test drive and check it out in detail.. Good luck !

SW20 MR2's (like MK4 Supra's) Are Grossly over-priced.....they are not worth the amount of money people advertise them for.

My friend ed, had a 93 MR2 with 98 JDM Body Panneling with a JDM 3RD Gen 3SGTE with a CT26 Turbo. (From Japan, 350whp), LSD Tranny and a Stand alone ECU System (TEK3R). It was also very well taken care of, had T-Tops and 17" Monegi Rims with a complete sound system.

He put it on ebay.....It was a beautifull looking MR2. Has great features. But His MR2 barley hit the $6400 in bids. (Reserve was never met).

Here is the messed up part. A BONE Stock High mileage 91 MR2 Turbo that had Chrome Rims and a body kit, with riced out parts went for $10,000.

His MR2 eventually went for $7000. Which is a steal for how much equipment was in the car.

What im getting at. Is most people dont know the true value of a car. and I say, if you purchase an MR2, go over the whole car and make sure its worth the money you are about to spend.

in addition to going over the car, run a car fax. best if you can get a mechanic to go over it, its like 40 bucks to do the eleventy point inspection. lol

Ed's car was a NA Swap.... and modified cars generally don't sell for much more than a stock car does. It also depends where you live.... MR2's in Canada are priced WAYYYY higher than they are in the States. I know a few people that have bought cars in the States because the difference was so huge. My friend has a GORGEOUS 93 -> 3rd gen swap.... he is trying to get 9k for it and has had no luck. Actually.... he is on here and doesn't post much anymore.

55k on the motor is nice, but.. what about the rest of the car? other parts than the motor need maint. and replacing as the miles add up or years pass.

Thats insurance fraud...
If there should be an accident and the insurance adjuster looks at the engine and see's the turbo, they will not honor the premuim. And you could be charged with fraud. Something to think about..

Hi all I am new to this forum but I just had to when I saw the question asked about this car...I don't know if you have test drove it yet but I did 3 days ago and this car is very nice and very fast...This was my first time in a MR2 and I totally fell in love with it but the wife told me that the price was out of my range so the hunt continues for me...All I know is that he took me on the interstate and before I knew it we were up to 140 in 4th gear...So the car is a good deal if you have the money...The bad, The ac leak and the front right tire sounds like it bottoms out when you run over even the smallest bump...

Oh and I forgot another plus...The VIN number on this car comes up as a non turbo so the insurance rate is way cheaper...Just another FYI

Yes, we're aware of the turbo swap in this car. But insuring a turbocharged car under the guise of N/A is fraud.
