Revving high

Hey guys I have a little problem, just recently I changes one of my hoses because my car was overheating, but now after i fix my problem another one has came up my rev idle doesn't want to come down. When I start my car it revs up to 3000 rpm and after a little bit of warm up it goes down between 2000 and 2500 rpm and stay there even after i drive it. I already cleaned my throttle body and butterfly with throttle/ carburetor cleaner and its still high, and i don't thinks its the wires because I haven't touched any what can it be??? pls help? thank you.

Sticky accelerator cable ? check at the throttlebody and foot pedal. If ok, try just adjusting your idle with the idle screw.

i've had more problems w/ that than can be imagined...

check for vacuum leaks...

is it just a high idle or do you have boosting issues too...?

i've had that twice....

you kno what the problem was.... the main engine ground near the transmission was became loose and was grounding the engine out thru the throttle cable... the intense heat from the high amperage caused the cable to heat up and break apart over time.

Wow ! I never would have thought of that. I'm gonna make sure mine is grounded properly.
Thanks Drew. Once again, your expertise is appreciated...
