OK, So if you took a 2nd gen MR2 N/A and put a built 3sgte head with cams , you could build a potent engine ? Do the N/A intake and exhaust manifolds mate to the 3sgte head ?
Yes the head will fit with work. You'll need the intake and exhaust from a 3sgte. And the head might need to be machined to fit accurately. IIRC the 3sgte head has more passages for oil or coolant(don't remember which one). So you might have to drill holes in the block for those. Thought about doing it, but it sounds like a lot of work.

Nooo.... you would definitely want to build the shit out of the 5s block.... 5s's do not like boost at all in stock form. You would retain the 3sgte intake/exhaust manifolds.
the 5sgte has been built i believe that there is only 1 in the US. if done correctly it can be an extremely powerful engine and is actually considered bullit proof, problem is its exspensive and there are only like 4 or 5 ppl who have done it. i know that in the earlier 5s blocks that the water passages have to be port matched but i believe the 93+ match, the jowels in the crankshaft have to b enlarged also, along with other things many custom parts, i'd like to do one someday and did look into it be4, but b ready to spend 15,000.

i'd be willing to bet 15k there is more than one...
they call it a frankenstein and its actually more common than you would lead on.
from wha i heard you need to use forged pistons and rings on the bottom end. but the head does fit fine. you need the 3sgte timing belt and crank pulley, and of course manifolds and ECU

Hhmm ? That doesn't sound like it would cost 15K...

You're drunk.... 5SGTE's are pretty common. There are probably 30+ just on the MR2 boards.... god knows how many other people have frankensteined them in their garages. Plus an older member here had one in his Camry.
