Soft top

I guess that first I need to tell you that I have a 01 spyder. I've had the car about 2 month now with no complaints. The other day I started to get some air noise from the driver’s side of the top, which got progressively worse. Today I noticed that there was a gap between the weather strip and the top fabric. Upon further inspection I found that there is a strap that runs between the drivers and passenger sides of the top. This strap is fastened with snaps and Velcro. This strap had detached and was getting between the top and the seal, which was causing the air leak. Apparently this has been a problem in the past since there were safety pins and duct tape there also. Is there a fix for this?

Sorry for making this so long. Thanks,

I guess that would be me...
A pic of your problem might help.
I'm aware of the straps you're talking about, but i haven't had any tears/rips in my top.
I'm thinking once there is a tear it's gona be hard to fix. Though I don't think duct tape is the answer.
