n/a to turbo brakes

My rotors are going to need replacing soon and I was wondering how different the turbo brakes are. I figure since I have the tubo now, I should go ahead and make it stop better too.

I know the stock brakes are pretty good, so I'm not really thinking about aftermarket big brakes or anything, though they look cool. I think the rotors are different, but what about the calipers and stuff. Could I get turbo rotors and use the n/a calipers, or not?

Or, is the difference negligible? Would I be better off with n/a rotors and upgraded pads? I'm just weighing my options. Thanks for any help.

Your best bet is to upgrade to turbo rotors and calipers. The turbo front calipers are 2-piston instead of one.... the rears are the same. If you want to spend a little more you could upgrade to the 93+ turbo brakes.... but you would want to replace all rotors, calipers and the master cylinder.

Thanks for the info. I don't think I'll go with the 93 brakes, but I will probably go with the turbo setup. How much more is the 93 than the older set? Other than master cylinder, it's all just switched out right? I won't need new lines or anything like that? Is the new master cylinder only on the 93+ or any turbo set? If it's not too much more, I might go 93. I know it's a lot of questions, but I appreciate the help. Thanks again.

what sort of driving do you do? i have 91n/a brakes on my 212whp (for now) 3S stroker, and they stop more than i could ever ask for on the street. once i start tracking my car again, i will likely upgrade to the 93T brakes.

my brake mods are Porterfield R4S pads front and rear, Motul RBF600 fluid, braided stainless steel hoses, OEM blank rotors. the total cost for these parts should be about $275.

If you keep your eye out you can get a pretty good deal on a set of 93+ brakes.

Here are a couple sets of 94+ Turbo Calipers - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-9...mZ260175326619

You would still need rotors and pads.... and you should probably look into upgrading the master cylinder down the road.

I got my '91 Turbo Brake Set (4 calipers w/ lines, 4 rotors, all with pads) for $200 shipped..... which was a steal because that box had to be expensive as hell to ship.

I don't do any track driving or anything, just normal street driving. I think I'm going to check out the calipers on ebay and look for rotors and stuff. It's looking like it's going to be cheaper than I thought, but I guess I was thinking big brake kit prices. Thanks for the help, guys.
