Newb Q: Looking to buy 93+ suspension and wheels from a turbo

I'm assuming you can fit 93+ shocks and springs from a turbo onto a 91 turbo... I prefer a stocker look (the gap on a 91 turbo w/ the 14s look kinda heinous), so just wondering if anyone can confirm, and also, how much money do you think a used set of susp. + wheels would cost me? Maybe I should go for coil-overs and some aftermarket? Thanks for any advice guys.

why not just get a set of eibachs..they will only lower ur car about an inch.....a used set of 93 rims will prolly run u around 200-300 usd depending on the condition of them....if ur thinking bout running some aftermarket coil-overs....thats a big difference in price..they tend to run around 1000 or more.....are u lowering the car for any particular reason (ie autocross....cosmetic look??)...

I'm a car enthusiast, always have been. C/os are both for looks and tracking, canyon running.

Actually I wouldn't mind my car looking like yours except for the scoop since I wanna keep low profile. My other ride is an A4 with H& R c/os, etc...

Springs on stock shocks w/ 125K on mine scare me since that's just not the way to go. I'll probably blow the shocks in 5K. I'm looking for an affordable solution. Please educate me though, as I am a newb to MR2s... Also what sites, resources should I go to for these parts? Thanks a lot.

since youre just looking to affordably replace your strut assembly, getting used 93 springs would do. new 93+ springs cost more than eibach prokit. 93 springs will lower your car half inch, prokit about 1". these drops wont terribly accelerate wear on the oem shocks, but then again they have 125k and 10+ years on em. you can always buy replacement cartridges for em. either oem or aftermarket. tokicos and kyb make adjustable damping replacement cartridges for mr2's. to echo mrqturbo's question, are you lowering it for perf. or looks? if its for performance, you have to look way beyond just the strut assembly. hth.

Thanks for the response. I'm looking primarily for performance, as long as it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg. i'm willing to spend about 1 grand for suspension. i have to consider that I have to fork down some cash on some 16 or 17" wheels and tires - and I never chince on tires either. So, hmmm... what options do you guys think i should exercise? Like, price range and brands. Also, do u guys know of a good online resource to look at wheels on MR2s? Hopefully I can find a used set of everything

I spent a little over a thousand(still cheaper than the cheapest coilover set) when I rebuilt my suspension not including wheels and tires. My car was F'd up when I bought it(cheap), worn or missing suspension components throughout. I put new front and rear sway bars, new endlinks, balljoints and wheel bearings on all 4 corners, new polyurethane bushings on front and rear control arms and strut rods, new front strut mounts. OEM replacement for all cept sway bars and bushings. And of course, new aftermarket springs and struts. Did all the labor(cept alignment) so I saved a ton o cash. Handles like a dream.
