Gas mileage/Miles per tank?

Hi, my name is Ted. I'm new here, but I've owned MR2s for the past 16 years. I have a 1991 Turbo, stock, with 48K original miles on it. I love my car. One thing that I want to find out is how many miles people get on a tank of gas. It seems like I used to get 300 miles to a tank, but I only get like 260 now. Now, I may be thinking of my last MR2, which was non-turbo.

Let me know. I love to talk MR2s, but I can't really keep up when people start talking all the mods they do to their cars.

One last thing, I have the original rims on the car but have been thinking about getting some new ones. I know that rims are totally a personal choice, but anybody got good ideas? My tires are Pirelli HP 205 60R14

Ted

on stock ecu i used to get around 25mpg mixed driving. tuned i averaged closer to 30. depending on how empty you drive the tank i wouldnt say its out of the realm of possibility.

i would look into a set of 16 in rims/tires or bigger. your choices are going to be somewhat limited for 14 in rims. just make sure you get the right offsets.

the wheel wells accept rather large rims. mine are 17x9.5. the car is even lowered. i noticed a significant change in handling.

please calculate miles-per-gallon for your car. if i fill up my car every 50 miles, i could then say i got 50 miles per tank. this is useless information and tells us nothing.

if you can give us your miles-per-gallon, then we can help you determine if there may be a problem.

On a full tank I get about 250-275 miles. I used to get around 300 before I got the turbo swap. The turbo is a little too hard to keep my foot out of, so that might be part of my problem. Do you drive it hard, boosting a lot, or do you take it easy? I know I don't drive my turbo the same way I did the n/a.
