mr2 hks fcd/ fuel cut problems

I have a 91 mr2 with gen III 3sgte. I put a boost controller on my vehicle to safely raise the boost after performing required upgrades to be able to push 16 psi. I installed the HKS FCD and my fuel cut is still hitting before 16 psi. I found that 13.1 psi of boost is the max that I can get before fuel cut happens. The unit is wired properly... any ideas?

What number do you have your FCD set to? Doesn't sound like it's working at all..

I'm using the Greddy ProfecII EBC. I have the boost limiter set to 16psi. When boost hits that level, the wastegate is opened to reduce boost. But it doesn't cut fuel. What do you have yours set to ?

Eithet the FCD is not wired correctly(which you said is) Or it just isn't working. Maybe defective.
Are you sure it's fuel cut?

i triple checked the wiring. may be defective. it is fuel cut because check engine light comes on and pulls a code 34 and resets itself when car is turned off and back on again. should i raise the wastegate setting?

The boost controller instructions state that the 5 psi setting is where the wastegate staerts to open. i am able to change this setting. The HKS FCD was verified today that it is in working order. I changed the setting to number 9 (toyota supra) and I was able to gain .5 more psibefore fuel cut kicked in and the car idled/accelerated different. Tomorrow i am doing the pressure gauge/voltmeter test

Sounds like you're on the right track. I " think" the 9 setting is suppose to eliminate fuel cut altogether for the MR2. At least if I remember correctly. My instructions were in japanese, so I called HKS when i was installing my FCD. I thought thats what they told me. That was 3 years ago.
