5sfe cams in a 3sgte

have anyone tried this as yet and if not what do you think will happen will i gain more horse power or would i lose horse power?

Not possible.... the 5sfe cams are retarded. They have a gear in the middle that connect the two cams together. If you have a 2nd gen 3sgte you can throw in some 3rd gen cams for some gains. Otherwise there are several options for aftermarket cams.

also, regarding cams, if you get cam gears and retard the exhaust cam a few degrees, you'll pick up some nice top end gains, without hurting spool or low end torque. that is effectively what toyota did with the genIII cams.

Does that work with stock gen II 3sgte ex. cams?

yes, using stock genII cams, retard the exhaust cam about 6 degrees, IIRC, and it helps a bit with the top end, something like 10whp.
