Gen1 race brakes

hi all, I am new here, my first post

I have a question or 2 please. my wife and I am using one of our MR2's ( our '91 sw20) to build a sealed road rally car. ( http://www.targa.co.nz ) we have already done suspension, engine(v6 camry quad cam, my god its fast!) and some but not finished aerodynamics package, now we are looking at brakes, I read the post about the supra brakes but we really really dont want to use 17' wheels.

this pic was taken on the shake down run after then engine swap but the weekend before we did the adjustable suspension and wheels swap from 2 piece 17's to 3 piece 16's (much much lighter)

my question is if you were in our situation what would YOU do for brakes?

thanks in advance

Nick

start with the cheapest and upgrade the pads, rotors, lines, fluids to a more aggressive setup. if your brakes can not handle them i would upgrade to a bbk. wilwood makes bbk that should fit under a 16" wheel or even 15" depending on offset

i have 93 brakes...slotted raybestos rotors and endless brake pads...they were great on the track for me...no brake fade and they held all day long.....

93+ brakes, hands down. I have them with Axxis pads, stainless lines and a good bleed. Stops like no other. 100x better than the 91s. The swap is easy too, but make sure you get the master cylinder and proportioning valve.
