Then you want the 2nd gen. I suggest the Turbo model with the 3sgte engine. '93-95 would be great if you can find one. Larger brakes, more advance suspension geometry and larger rims. There is also a much greater after market performance parts support.

91-95 in the US market was the gen II. definatly the most sexy :p but as mr2bad stated, buy a turbo model if you want turbo. do NOT buy a n/a and think your gonna save money swapping.
93+ did come with larger fuel injectors, larger brakes, an OPTIONAL LSD, and better brakes. I would not throw rim size into the equation. very easy to swap to whatever stlye/brand you want.

Why? The '93-'95 15" stock wheels are way better looking than those ugly ass 14" stocks that came on the '91-'92's..They were the 1st thing I changed on my '92 N/A and "91 Turbo.

hense why they are not a problem. everyone changes out the rims anyway so who cares what the stock ones are. also even if they still are stock, the new owner can put on rims that suit his/her taste. its as simple as unscrewing 5lugs per wheel. unlike a n/a to turbo swap where there is a lot involved lol

EDIT: i would agree 14's are not desirable. but then cant say i like 15's either lol. my 2 came with 16" porche replica rims. swapped them out inside a month for the 17x7's im running now. bent them though, two years of potholes. not enough to mess things up, but im on the market for a nice set of 17x7 for the front. maybe 7.5 or 8 for the rears. new sound system first :p

Understood. Though I never mentioned the rims as a problem. I was just pointing out some of the differnces between the years. I didn't like the stock rims on any of them. But those 14's were just plain fugly. Not to mention so small looking.

I would suggest getting a cheaper, higher mileage N/A to learn the dynamics of the car. Then after awhile if you decide you really like the car, spend the cash for a low mileage 93+ turbo.

The N/A and turbo are like day and night. If you want a turbo, don't waste your money and time with an N/A.

I wouldnt call that an Advancment, more like a dumbed down suspension that makes it more comfortable for the average person to drive....because to many idiots were killing themselves in corners with the previous suspension. (which in the right hands was a far superrior setup to the 93+)

Thats debatable.Toyota would list it as an improvement. But the point is, this guy was wanting information about the difference between year models. Again, I am only pointing them out .
