Yes, i've done that to check a CEL-#41: Throttle Postion Sensor. Which I checked out and ended up replacing.

When I installed the new timing belt, I guess it had skipped a notch and the timing was off. It would barely idle. After re-aligning the belt correcctly , and setting the timing(10 degrees BTDC)is when the CEL came on with the code 41. Like I stated previously, I replaced the TPS, but still get the same code. I was wondering if not Shorting TE1 and E1 when setting the timing had anything to do with it.
Any ideas?
