MK2 Alternator

I just got my '91 MR2 2.2L NA yesterday with only 107,000 miles and it's all original.

However, the alternator is bad. My question is, are there any other models of that are more popular, such as the corolla, that have an alternator that's interchangable? Also is it better to get a higher amp alternator like a 100amp instead of the stock 70amp?

I plan on putting in a deck and some nicer speakers but not a whole system with subs and monitors and other power draining, weight adding mods.

The OEM alternator is fine for your application. As for interchangeability, dunno.

You can always get a 3SGTE alternator and bracket. Those are generally 90-100 amp. I figure it will bolt right up because I put a 5SFE alternator and bracket on my 3SGTE and it fit fine.

I have an extra 3S Alternator and Bracket for sale. Send me a messege if interested.
