Clutch Question

I got a new clutch put in a couple of weeks ago to fix a grinding problem, but its still there. During the clutch swap, my buddy pointed out that the slave-cylinder pump looked like it was leaking. I didn't think much about it untill i was unable to change gears. The only way i could; was if i pumped the clutch pedal. After pumping it for awhile it would get stiff again and i could change gears again for about ten minutes untill i would have to pump it again. Should I try changing the slave-cylinder pump or do any of u guys know what the problem is?

If the slave is leaking you should either rebuild it or replace it. The leak will only get worse. I would check the clutch master for leaks too. I replaced both units on my 2 a couple of years ago. It's pretty easy. You will need help bleeding the system.

Yeah, you're right. It did get worse, i cant drive it anymore, no matter how much i pump the clutch. I guess ill do that then. Thanks

Hey man, I jsut recently replaced an entire clutch system and from my experience, I would say that you have a leak in your system somewhere, if you did not, then once you pump the clutch to create pressure you would keep that pressure. You also have air in the clutch line, that is the reason why you keep having to pump the cluth to create pressure. Invest in a good vacuum pump, this will save you all sorts of time.
