whats up guys, like it says in my screen name my name is Calvin and i am an enthusiast of Supras and MR2's. since Supras are way too over priced for now, i will be in the mr2 realm and i am going to attempt to buy one within the next few months.

i have a few questions..

first of...can you guys give me some links to mr2 mk2 turbo stores and other stuff like that. believe me, i've been trying to look for them, but nothing came up. only ricer stores that sell type-r this and type-r that.

and also, how much can i get out of the stock turbos?
and how much can i get out of the stock 5spd tranny?

thanks, cya.

welcome, but this should be in the Me/Mines/Mods section...

MR2s can get just as pricey as supras, depending on the model of course...

www.mr2.com...

rice? in Southern Cali? Nawww ... you're pullin' my leg!

anyway ... welcome.

yeah, use the the site that Razo-E provided. it's a good start point for research. in between the constant repetitions of "CT20b-this and JUN-stroke-that" there is some very valuable information to be gained.

start with the sticky threads at the top of the Forum Message Board.

i read in a magazine that the stock tranny is RELIABLE up to about 450 HP (flywheel) ... after that it needs special attention (meaning: don't be doin' no 7000 RPM clutch drops). one note in my experience is don't powershift these trannies - just a heads up.

about the limits of the stock turbo (CT26) ... i'm tempted to say that they will run up to 270-280 HP (flywheel) - but i may stand corrected on that one.
