Gen1 1987 mr2 oil pressure gauge not responding

I am new to toyota nation. I tried looking through most of the forums before i posted, but there were so many. My question is: what are some ideas for my oil pressure gauge not rising? I think it's my oil pressure sender that is malfunctioning, but i cannot find out where it is located. can anyone tell me where it is located so i can replace it to see if this is the culprit? this is my first and only guess for this symptom.

sincerely,
newbie.

if the guage is fully dead than i'd suspect that the wire has fallen of the sender.

It's located on the block, on the exhaust side, closer to the #1 cylider but low down, above the oil pan. It is like a mushroom shape.

Post a pic of that area, i can point it out.
