Exclamation New Member, few questions

hey,

im soon to be upgrading from my mitsubishi starion turbo and purchasing a mk2. year yet is unditermined, depending on whats for sale.

my first question that i highly doubt is the availibilty of the SARD racing body kit. is it purchasable from anywhere? and if so, is it road legal?

second thing. how is the engine removed from the engine bay? i heard they have to come out from underneath? whats invovled in that? just a light description would be great.

third thing. is anyone here from Australia? and do they know of anywhere that can get bodykits exluding the hidious veilside? if worse comes to worse i'll settle for the TRD , but hoping not because they seem to be quite the popular.

also, with the N/A MR2. do they run the same driveline as the turbz? is it to much of a hassel to purchase an N/A and build a turbzd engine for it down the track? engine managment isnt a problem, nore brakes, because they will be upgraded anyway. this is my most important question.
thanks for your help guys, i appreciate it.

im looking forward to getting this thing underway so i can also take my starion off the road and track it out.

cheers

Glen

The SARD MR2 was physcially changed to allow for a Lexus V8 engine ... it is not a "kit". SARD, does offer a kit for the MR2, but it looks nothing like the race car.

The easiest way I have seen to get the motor out is to drop the crossmember, undo the the 4 motor mounts and lift the body up

Lots of people have succesfully installed the 3sgte (the turbo engine into a NA MR2). It would be wise to use the tranny from the turbo as the gearing is different.

we're doing a 3S-GTE swap into a non turbo 91 mr2 and we don't have a lift or anything. what we used was a engine hoist to pick up the rear and the engine has enough room to clear from the bottom. its actually a pretty simple swap.
