Got the beams repainted

Before

After

I am such a horrible photographer I cant even tell the difference just by looking at the pictures. haha It looks SOOOO different though. I am shocked. The car looks brand new! It is amazing what a good paint job will do.

The car is so shiny! I am so excited it looks so good! Too bad I have to sell it now, just a week after I get the damn thing painted. Life is so ironic.

It does look new. Why do you have to sell it?

It was professionally repainted. I wish I could repaint cars like that!

She is a 1991. Doesn't look that old though!

I have to sell her because... are you ready for the story???

I own a 94 rx-7. I paid a "reputable" rotary shop to rebuild the engine in it. About 2 months after the rebuild the engine blew. I had my car towed to a different shop to have a new motor put in it. The mechanic at that shop found some horrible things under the hood. The old gaskets were reused during the rebuild, bolts were sawed off or missing (important ones! my driveshaft was put back in with only 3 bolts holding it) valves were super-glued back on, hoses were crushed with the manifold... I could go on and on. It is a mess. The old shop did 6k worth of damage to my FD. I am taking them to court but even if I win it could take years to collect on it. I have to pay my FD's bill on Friday. I have no choice but to sell the Beams. I will be posting it on eBay tomorrow.

What really sucks is that the guy who messed up my car no longer works there. The owner fired him for stealing from the company. He has been MIA since. I hate asking the owner for my money back because I like him but it is his shop and his responsibility. I hope the owner finds the guy who messed up my car and sues him to get the money he took back.

Still sucks I have to sell the 2. I have gotten so attached to it over the years. It gets 30 mpg city and is fun to drive. I still cant believe the gas mileage it gets. My FD gets 15

yeah, that does suck. But it's his business and he's responsible. Should be more carefull about who he hires and what work he gives them. Thats alot of money to piss away. he porbably won't be able to sue ans ex employeee. The money will have to come from his business insurance.
I'm attached to my 2 too. I will keep it until it blows up into a 1000 pieces.!
Good luck

You guys are really nice. Most car forums suck. I really don't have a lot to talk about here though. I have looked at a lot of MR2 threads but know nothing about the 2 so I can't answer questions or give advice. If you want to start a rotary section I would happy to be the Toyota Nation rotary shrink haha.

There has always been a special place in my heart for the MR2. Back in the day I though I was "the shit" because I was a champion street racer (oh god, I don't like to think about that. I was such a jerk) I had a very fast car with little skill. Years ago when I got the 2 (back then it was stock) It really changed my whole perspective on things. It took me a while but I really learned how to drive! In the mountains you can take a new Porsche in a stock N/A 2 if you know what you are doing. That car taught me that power doesn't win road races. I have been studying the physics of road racing and hitting the curves ever since. I wish I could have taken the Beams road racing but I know that I will have one again someday.
