Hardtops are higher in demand in the states because they are more rare. Unless you REALLY want T-Tops... I would just stick with what you have. I've owned 1 - HT MKI, 2 - TT MKI's, 1 - TT MKII, 2 - SR MKII's and now my HT MKII. I think I took the t-tops off ONE time in the MKII. The rest of the time... never touched them. I probably used the sunroof in my MKII more than anything. Only thing about hardtop's is that they are generally the stripped down version of the car.... so you don't get all the fun stuff like power windows. Nice for track car.... crappy if you drive it daily.

Me personally..... I'd keep the HT.

Like Piddy said, they are rare in the USA. I'm sure you can find a trader/buyer. But I have T Tops too. I really like them. I remove them alot in the spring, some of the cooler summer days and alot in the fall.
Put it in the For Sale section of Toyota Nation.

see i have power windows, door locks all that stuff. In Arizona it never rains, and the weather is good for ttops maybe 330 days a year. if i lived somewhere else where it rain a lot of gets really cold i prolly would not be considering it.

i guess another question is, how hard are the mr2's to take off?

i have seen some cars where its a latch and away you go like a NSX, and others like the stupid corvette where i needed an allen wrench and took 30 min to get the damn tops off. needless to say, i drove a diff car in inventory after finding that out haha.

It's a simple handle that you twist... and then they pop off. Throw them behind the seats and you're good to go!
