I was talking about the Spyder. Anyone know why they're not sold up here? Is it a legal reason or just because Toyota doesn't want to sell them up here?

Following that train of thought, how hard would it be (i.e. how much would it cost) to buy one from the States and adapt it for Canadian road use?

2000-2003 MR2's are not eligible to be imported into Canada at all, period. No modifications will make them legal, either.

See the "inadmissable" list for Toyotas on this page:

Damn. A convertible to rival the Miata would be nice up here, I wonder why Toyota doesn't build one to Canadian standard...

Forget outrunning other cars, man! Convertibles ain't about speed, they're about just plain old fun! All I'd have to do is slap on a decent looking body kit and I'd have a pretty sweet little ride to take my girl around in. Besides, I have yet to see a single rear-wheel-drive Civic in existence. That alone is worth tons as far as a car being fun to drive.

And as for the Evo, if I was ever gonna spend what would amount to a full university education on a car, it's gotta look better outside and inside than a freakin' souped up LANCER.
