91 mr2 starting question

hey guys im new to this forum as well as mr2's i have the 5s-fe in my 91 mr-2

and for the question...when i got the car about a week later it rained and the next morning my car wouldnt start. we replaced the cap and rotor, the plug wires, and the plugs. ran great. just the other day my down pipe broke off of the exhaust manifold. i had to get home from where i was so i drove it...more so babied it. last night it rained again and once again it wont start. tried checking the plugs for spark and...they have spark and yet it isnt starting. me and my friends are trying to fix it and arent sure what exactly to do. we dont know if it built up carbon from the intake sucking up exhaust or what the worst thing is that one of the grounds smokes when i try to crank it over. i just am totally dumbfounded as to what to do. any help will be so greatly appreciated.

hey man, i have the same exact problem, and currently trying to figure it out, some of the guys on here gave me some things to check, so check out the post. It is very annoying though eh?
