MR2 high output alternator

I have a 1991 mr2 with a 1993 turbo motor, im looking for a good alternator to replace my old one that is junked out, it has a oval connector for the voltage reg. and i was wondering if anyone knows who makes a good 100+ amp alternator for that motor?

have you looked at some of the toyota trucks, see if the v-8s have any thing that would work, or not take a hole lot to make it work. i know that tha tundras have a 100amp altenator... find one in a junk yard with the wiring and make it work or something. it will cost a lot less sending it you to some one to "make it" pump out more

high output alternator is only necessary if you got some serious stereo equipment...

you upgraded the engine... but your electrical system is still them same.

the engine is stock with the exception of greddy dual exhaust and a apex blow off valve, and obviously the stock 100 amp wasn't enough for the single amp i have powering 2 subs and the engine, i might know a thing or two about electrics and cars, just not the mr2, at least i would hope so, i work on the electrics of F-16s

does the tundra one bolt right in or will it require a different bracket, what does it have for a voltage regulator connector on the back?

honestly i dont know. i never updated the altenator on any of my cars... never had to. but advanced auto parts said that it has an internal regulater. you may have to play with the brackets and or just try it. but you also may have to rewire the plug that goes in the back of the altenator. u may get it at advanced auto parts and or napa. but you may have to cut it you of a junk one in a salvage yard. lol goes back to the old phrase "if there is a will there is a way"
