I have question is ct 20 b with steel wheel will work fine on stock 1993 mr 2 turbo with JDM 93 engine and us wiring? How much boost should I use to be safe?

this info is easily found using the "search" feature. iirc all 93+ come with the ct20b. Everything must be in good working order, and apropriate parts must be upgraded to safely more. There are lots of write ups out there, please use the search feature.

stearing back torwards the thread topic, this turbo looks promising and at a projected price thats reaasonable. gotta upgrade my fuel system though, you guys better be done testing by then! :p
dont know if we are allowed to link to another forum or not, but there is a whole write up on mr2oc. i guess just search for this over there if you wanna know more lol

CT20B never came with a steel wheel... all JDM turbo's were ceramic. Replacing your turbo will have nothing to do with your wiring. Besides the housing.... I don't think CRW's turbo uses any parts from a CT20B. Simply replacing the compressor wheel will not give you a 400whp capable turbo. You should probably do a little more research before you go buying anything.

piddy, its not a ct with a steel wheel and thats it. hes been vague so far so noone steals the idea and gets a product out before him, but there is much more info on mr2oc. dont have a linky handy. its supposed to be on par with the TD06 kit and MAY yeild up to 400 as none have even been tested yet. though its expected to compete in that range of turbo;s.

That's not what I was implying.... reread the original post and mine.

I personally wouldn't try to push ANY internally gated turbo to 400whp... but that's just me.

CRW CTD06 "stock" 350-400 WHP turbo coming VERY SOON!!!
just letting everyone here know that we have been in the process of having a turbo made very similar to the BLITZ K1 380-v. for anyone who doesn't know the turbo is a direct bolt on (same as a ct20b externally) and is highly modified internally. initial estimates are that the turbo will be capable of producing 350-400whp with the correct supporting mods.

FAQ:

1) this turbo is completly NEW and not rebuilt/upgraded stock parts
2) there is no core required for purchase
3) retail cost should be under $1,000 USD
4) this turbo is externally identical to the CT20b from a gen3 MR2 or Celica so it will bolt on to any gen2 and 3 engine no problem. will fit gen1 (all-trac) with modification unless it's already using a gen2 CT26 or variation and will fit a gen4 (Caldina) if a gen3 exhaust manifold is used and downpipe/cat/whatever.
5) this turbo will come with the wastegate actuator
6) the stock oil feed/return lines will fit correctly
7) the stock coolant lines will fit correctly
8) gen2 3sgte or gen3 3sgte downpipes, stock or aftermarket, will work with this turbo (correct for their application of course)
9) we do have a test group almost completly full for guinea pigs (IE: reduced cost)
10) there will be an initial "group buy" on these turbos

the main reason we decided to go this oute is partially a fluke.... just happened to come across a company willing to remake the entire turbocharger for us for a pretty reasonable cost (comparativly speaking). was inquiring about custom turbo parts and just asked the right question (divine interention?) at the right time to the right guy willing to tackle the task. the other part of the reason is i live in California where the smog nazis roam free and tighten the noose almost daily on modifies cars. the only way i could be certain to have a customer pass emissions was to have the stock or stock/upgraded turbo on the car at emissions time... yeah.... turbo kits can slide by lazy smog techs but some folks just want the comfort and security of knowing that the turbo won't be any sort of issue whatsoever + have the ability to push 400whp while looking bone stock (exhausts are EASY to change!).

so here you have it.. the NEW "kid" on the block.... hope it meets your visual expectations

once the turbo is here (early next week) we'll test fit it and see if here is anything which needs modified there... if good in that department then we'll start running it for a short time and then get 10 more ordered for the test group.

if interested in being a "tester" email me at the_mister3@yahoo.com and i'll see what i can do for ya!

working within the confines of CA law there are not too many upgrades which will pass a visual inspection, smog or referee. this turbo should be capable of pushing 400 to the wheels with the right supporting mods + can slap on the stock cat if needed.

this turbo is based off a ct20b when if pushed can make 300whp... this has a lerger compressor wheel and diferent turbine wheel in modified housings so gettong over 300 will be much easier than trying it with a ct26 frame. also being the ct20b frame the spool should be much quicker than stockers or upgraded stockers.

just was looking for a turbo option which would "work smarter not harder"

Agreed. Definitely a great (if not the best... pending tests) option for anyone who is worried about passing smog. I really hope to see this thing put down 400whp. It's about time the CT27 got knocked off it's pedestal.

You are definately onto something utilizing the stock oil/coolant lines. Plus the ability for people who have already begun modding to use their old downpipe. Throw in an external wastegate option.... and you've pretty much got the rest of the readily available turbo kits by the short and curlys.
