Need experianced knowledge here please be so kind and help if You can.... Thank You.

Hi I have 1993 MR 2 Turbo bought it in US. I would like to change engine and transmission in my car. I'm having hard time with Chico Race Works because they don't have 93 turbo JDM engine with transmission and I am waiting 3 months already... ahhhh.

My question is.....

Is it possible to put in 94 + engine and transmission to my car?

I heard there are some modification I need to make to fit in the engine. Is that true?

What exactly I need to do to fit the 94+ engine and transmission?

Would I have to change all wires in the car?

What would You recomend please?

Thank You for all answers....

Why do you want a JDM engine? Whats wrong with having the USDM engine? It will bolt in . You will need the wiring harness to go with it.
Why do you even need a new engine?

As long as you have a full clip or half cut.... it is a direct swap. Just make sure the harnesses aren't cut. Why are you going all the way to the west coast for a simple engine swap?? Try http://mr2warehouse.com

The pressure on the cylinders is not right and I hear laoud cliking noice on last cylinder. The cost of repairing will be very expensive . My Transmission was repaired by a shop and they did horible job so i need new transmission. So I think best thing would be to get new engine with transmission. USDM Turbo suck ass I hate it the spool is horible. I think I'm going to leave ECU computer USDM because Josh from Chico Race said it's better because JDM ECU is set for highquality octane fuel and it will be laggy here in US unles I will put octan booster every time i put fuel to my car. So I don't have money for octane booster every time I tank my car so I decided to stay with USDM ECU. I heard JDM part are better and more reliable is that correct?

He sounded like a professional and I want the engine to be shipped to my house. My father is mechanic so he can help me out to put the engine in. So it will directly bolt in? how about axles? are they the same? I know 94+ has different transmission......

Yes mr2warehouse will come and do the install there. The thing is they wont just ship you an engine without getting the install as well. The reason for this is they dont really make anything on the clips themselves because of the cost of having them shipped here. So they make their money on the install. IMO its worth it, youll save time and agrevation having them do it.

Try getting ahold of this place
http://stores.ebay.com/CATradingInc

I believe the guys name is dennis. Hes a vendor on the mr2oc and there are plenty of good things about him. And also i guess mr2warehouse might actually sell just the clip. So i would still try and give them a call

Dennis said a while back that he wasn't going to stock MR2 engines anymore.... but I know he had a couple of 3rd gen's laying around. Best bet is to PM him on MR2OC. Username "Dennis".

All usdm 3sgte are the same. JDM 3sgte went to the 3rd gen in 93. All 3sgte transmissions (e153) are pretty much the same, except for the limited slip differential. If you have a '93, you more than likely have LSD. A JDM tranny will be exactly the same as the one you already have.

If you really need to replace the motor, I'd try a usdm 3s first. If you can't find that, and you need a JDM swap, do yourself a favor and just get the whole clip.

Big difference in $$$, though. Good luck!

I thought that the 93+ lsd transmissions also came with dual syncros as well as opposed to what came in the 91-92.
