wow, thats way up there for a swap.
if you have that kinda money, look into selling your NA then buy a turbo. And you'll still have plenty left for other things(like maybe a new clutch and lsd or turbo).

well im gettinr eady to join the military in a couple weeks, and i got a really good deal on this NA and im gonna have it stored while im in basic and shit, and rack up the movie and then just swap it cuz i figure i got the base already, so swap it, and then see ware im at! but for right now i gotta drive it for a lil while, and it needs new syncros in the NA tranny, does anyone know how long that usually takes a shop to do?

that would depend on the shop, how good they are and how fast they can get the parts they need. With a tranny rebuild, you'll need new seals, bearings, synchro blocking rings at the least. and depending on how long and how bad the synchros were grinding, you might also need new speed gears. the list can grow depending on how much a shop would wanna rape you. Try replacing the fluid first. It would be a very cheap alternative and it might buy you just enough time til your ready for your swap. try GM(yes general motors) synchromesh, part #12345349, they are a very good band aid on worn synchros.

good source for used parts: www.xcars.com
