acc pedal

hey guys.
i got a 1992 mr2 gt
my acc pedal keeps getting stick when i let go then push down, it gets stuck up and i cant push it.

had anyone had this prob befor?

WD40 your throttle cable at the throttle body. and lubricate the butterfly valve

i agree with modifier. Get some wd40 and put it on the throttle cable right at the body there is a spring. I had that problem on my old car.

iv tryed the wd40.
it looks like it gets jamed from somewhere when it springs back.

Does your car have the origional motor? If it does the only thing i can suggest is that moisture somehow got into the throttle cable itself (between the steel cable and the metal sheeth). And caused it to rust up. You may need a new cable.

i dont think its that.
most of the problems i have or will have are never heard of.(just my luck with cars lol)
it looks like it gets stuck in the butterfly mechenism somewhere.

you have to keep in mind that the MR2 isnt an ordinary car. Everything on it is more complex, the cooling system is 3 times bigger then a normal car, the clutch line is also twice as long, your speedo cable and throttle cable have to travel a much longer distance as well. Alot of the problems you will encounter with this vehicle will always be something that is not really heard of, and thats because of its complexity and MR design.\

lol it is a great car. looks good and drives like a dream.
but why couldnt they just make it simple

thanks for your help all. i will post pics of my baby soon. still doing alot of work 2 it.

steering needs fixing(thinking its the ball joints)
and actuator isnt working to well.
