91 mr2 turbo swapping a 92 JDM 3SGTE

Is there a lot of work involve when swapping a 92 JDM 3SGTE into a 91 MR2 Turbo? Im using the USDM harness. What will I need to buy or change? Is there a write up on this already? Thanks

Ive read a lot of NA to JDM turbo engine, but not 91 turbo already and just swapping a JDM engine instead of USDM.

Compare the us 2nd gen to the JDM 2nd gen. Most of the harnesses are the same, but there are a few differences in the ecu pins. You should be able to make the approprate changes with these pinouts.

Are you swapping the entire motor/turbo/tranny or just the motor itself? If you're doing the entire swap, I would recommend just getting the jdm ecu.

Good luck!

I'm actually buying the car with the engine in it already. The problem is that the wiring is not complete. The previous owner cannot figure out how to wire it up. It currently cranks over, but does not start. I have both USDM and JDM ECU. I'm just wondering if I hook up the JDM ECU, what alteration is required in the engine bay or wire harness itself?

Also I notice the car ignition system does not have the igniter wire(center wire from distributor) installed. Does anyone have a pic or diagram of how to wire up that center wire from the distributor?

Both ends of that wire have clips on it that plug right in. Without that wire, the spark plugs won't fire, so it definitely won't start like that.
