Question about Some Rims and Tires

Hello everyone. I have a question. Im going to make about a 2 hour round trip to pick up a set of rims and tires. Theyre 17's 235/45/17 (he thinks the width of the rim is 7", though he didnt confirm this.) Bolt Pattern is 5 ON 4.5 OR 5 ON 100 OR 5 ON 114.3. Will this rim and tire set up fit on my 1991 toyota mr2 turbo?

Id appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Welcome to TN

They'll fit. I can't remember if bolt pattern is 5x100 or 5x114.3. I think it's114.3. But MR2's need a staggered set up with wider rim and tires in the rear. All your rims are 7" wide. 235's in the back are good, but it may be alittle too wide for the front. Depends on the offset too.You can go with 7" all around, but you should at least run a wider tire in the rear than in the front.
In my opinion, I think this set up is perfect:
Wheels/Tires
F: 17x8 +35, R: 17x9 +35
F: 215/40, R: 245/40

Thanks for the reply. How critical is it to have staggered rim set up? What will it do if I put 17x7's all the way around? Will it mess my car up in anyway? Take away from the handling?

Well, you CAN go with 7" all around, but you should at least make sure the rear tires are wider than the front tires. MR2's are meant to have a staggered set up to accommodate the eninge placement.

Not worth the gas. Those things are ugly and would look horrible on an MR2. 235's won't fit in the front and you should be running something wider in the back. Save your money and buy real wheels.

Well im definetly looking for some 5 spoke rims, Can you reccomend any that are staggered and not too expensive?

What about these? Theyre 7 front and 9 rear. I found them on ebay.

Sportmax makes shit for wheels... but at least the sizes will look good. That's probably your best bet if you're on a budget.
