MR2 turbo problems

I own an 91' MR2 turbo. My brilliant buddy was doing som electrical work on my car when he fried my turbo timer wires. After this my turbo has been going crazy. I cant even drive it, it just shoots whenever it feels like and black smoke is coming out the exhaust.
I am guessing the turbo timer might be fryed because wen we hooked it back up it didnt make a difference.
Any input would be awesome

i am guessing that is your answer like all electrical device for example if you have a missfire in one of your cylinders what is a quick and easy way to find which one it is unplug the spark plugs one at a time untill one of them does not make a diff on how the car is running

so your saying that the timing could have possibly been messed up?
