unfortunately, I've had to tow my 2nd gen . front in the air. Just put in neutral, it's fine. and yeah, trans internals will still turn. Better to lift rear end and tow with front end on the ground. My front air dam was too low to the ground for that tho.

it's been done by many people.... i've towed mr2's with the rear down....

there's an mk1 over on mr2oc with over 500,000 miles with over 300,000 of them being flat-towed behind an RV..... one of my old mr2's was flat-towed behind an RV....

it's no different than the car just rolling down a hill in neutral when driving....

ya see but when the car is rolling down a hill in neutral its usually running lol hence there is fluid exchange so the parts are all lubed and rolling isn't an issue. some parts in the diff and tranny DO still turn (when in neutral) that should need lubrication. thats pretty good if nothing has ever happened to yours though.

Like I said, I was towed 35 miles and no problems. But I would really prefer trailering.
