NO! BAD! Diesel oil has additives that are not good for gas motors. Reason people say that is because most JDM motors suggest 15w40, which is hard to find at most parts stores in non-diesel form.

Just run 10w30, you'll be fine.

Yea I run 10w30 in the summer 10w40 in the winter. USDM and JDM Engines arent much different internally unless you are talking about 2nd gen and 3rd gen.

Is that a typo Brian? Should be thicker in the hotter summer months(10w-40) and thinner in the colder winter months(5w-30).

http://www.mr2oc.com/showthread.php?...ght=diesel+oil

they say use the mobile 1 5w40 turbo truck diesel. My exhaust turbine is ceramic jdm 3sgte w/o the egr. According to long term users from mr2oc and dallasimports.net they say go with 5w40 all year long every 2500-3000 miles.

I wouldn't use any oil that thin in the summer in anything that wasn't a new(ish) car.

i run the AMS oil 10w30 on mine gen3. I've used mobil 1 10w30 before and it was fine but i switched over to the AMS oils in the motor and tranny.
