If you mean the MAF sensor then i doubt anyone would have one laying around unless the converted to a standalone ecu and used a MAP setup.

Try autozone, i think they have one but its over $200.

nope, im referring to the AFM (air flow meter)
it's the electronic meter that sits on top of the barn door type intake, just inside the filter.
i doubt anyone would have one also, but it's worth a shot, no?

probably! so doesn't that beg the question, why did you bother mentioning your air flow meter problem for your mk1 in this thread about my mk2?

hey Engineer, thanks for the offer. hopefully i don't desperately need to replace mine for another couple weeks. i cleaned it a little and it was running perfectly, but i can feel the problem slowly returning.
is yours from a turbo, and how many miles are on it?
i'll email you soon if i dont see you on here again.

lol. i mean i took the cap off the meter, found a whole bunch of rust and corrosion, worn out contact points, and i sprayed some WD-40 in there, worked some things back and forth... you know... cleaned it up

ooohhh, not recommended to mess with the inards of that. Hopefully, no permanent damage. Someone may have already opened it up and caused some damage. That may be why you found rust/corrosion. The cover should never be removed.

you're a wise one. that's exacty the case - it had already been opened and then poorly siliconed back on. for some reason i thought i had mentioned that in this thread, but i guess that was on mr2oc.

yea i wouldn't have opened it if it hadn't already been tampered with. my guess is they tried to tweak it to accommodate the increase in hp from other mods... but when i get a replacement, i'm just going to leave it be.

by the way, there was plenty of permanent damage. like i said, i bandaided the problem, but it's creeping back now, so i'm getting a used one to put in its place.
