USA Rotting MR2/ fix up: NEED HELP! (noob)

Hey guys, I'm new to the site. I've read around and you all seem to be pretty informed and knowledgeable about the MR2's. Here is my delima:

1: My family in Florida; (cousins/aunts/uncles) someone, I'm not sure who, has a white MR2 (not sure what model) thats been sitting under a tarp, under a open garage since I can remember..... The oldest memory I have of looking at it saying, "I'ma drive that one day" was when I was 12. I'm currently 17. Yet I know it's been sitting there longer than that.

2: I've never actually had the balls to ask anyone other than my clueless father about the car. It's my moms family. I have never taken the whole tarp off, only to the mirror. I'm good with car recognition, and know it's an MR2. The front right tire has been flat since I can remember. It also hasn't been driven since I can remember.

This to me means the engine is probably sludged, and every fluid in the car needs to be changed. If the car even starts I'd be surprised. I know the seals are probably all broken, and there are probably other problems due to it hasn't been started in a long time.

3: I have no clue how much the work on the car would be to make it a reliable car. I know that when they were brand new, they got 10's across the board, on sites like Edmonds.

4: I have no clue what year it is. But I know it's been sitting there long enough that the mileage should still be low.

So basically I just need to know, any information you can give me to help me figure what it would cost to make this my first car. But mostly I want to know if this is worth it.

Later I plan to tune it, and get into like SCCA, Nopi, or D1. Or just recreational racing/drifting. But I def. want to tune and set it up nice.

Thanks in Advance

^^ like I said, I'm not sure. I've never asked anyone on my moms side of the family about it. But I looked on Edmunds, and I think it's a '92. But engine type, and whether it's a manual or auto is still a question to me.
