Drop Or Pull?

I just bought a JDM 92 rear 3sgte clip that will go on to 92 5SFE. The clip is coming in Wed. i have a couple of questions?


1. Any major mods do i need to do ex. motor mounts
2. Is it possible to lift the motor out and drop the new one in from the top?
3. If from the top then how? If from the bottom then whats an easy way to get the car in the air high enough (keep in mind this will be done in my drive way w/ limited tools jack and 4 jack stands) ?

If you have a hoist, go from the top.
I don't feel comfortable safety wise being under a car jacked up high enough to remove the engine from underneath. If you must goes this way(underneath) ,I would remove the head and oil pan to shorten the hieght neccessary for the engine to clear the frame .

dropping the motor from the bottom is much easier, I think. Just use the engine hoist to lift the rear end of the car high enough to lower the motor onto rollers or floor jacks, then you can roll it out from underneath.
