my 3vzfe aw11

Hi guys.

I had put a post in the introduce me forum and someone on there mentioned that they hadn't seen a 3vzfe swap into a mk1 mr2 and suggested I came across here and posted some pics.

I've already got some pics uploaded.
So here goes, the project so far.

The original car.
Currently supporting different alloys and a bit more rust than the pic shows.

And the original engine which I'm sure you all know is a cracking little engine.

Preparing for removal of old engine.

Engine and original mounts removed

New mounts cut and welded into location

Battery relocated to front.

No need to explain this one, altho it now has no egr system.

Engine sitting under car ready for hoisting upwards and to its new home.

Upwards she goes.

Engine looking out from the bay at us

Looks at home here.

You can see where we chopped the rear wall and bent it back to fit the engine.

Relacation of shaft bearing to fit the camry carrier.

Thats the pics for now.
One final bit.....
The first passenger run.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dj8CvZonEiw

at that time it was running a crappy temporary exhaust.

so the list so far...

MR2 mk1 AW11
3vzfe engine.
MR2 turbo gearbox clutch and modified Flywheel.
Modified mr2 turbo driveshafts
now sporting a double stainless 3" backbox so sounds a little different.
Corbareu bucket seats and 3 point harnesses.
17" Dezent alloy wheels.

To go on...

Celica ST205 front calipers and modified disks.
undecided suspension
Lambo Door conversion (1 fitted but not perfect so some work required)
Carbon fibre bits hopefully will be made.
New head gaskets seen as the current ones are suspect.

Plus loads more to come once that lot is done

Its a lot of fun to drive and I can't wait to get it back.

and finally, the temporary ride for when its too wet to take the bike out

This one is my stripped out trackcar.
Stainless exhaust
induction kit and completly stripped interior, infact the dash clocks are held in with zip ties and the switches with Gaffa tape.

Anyway I'm off away on the bike for the weekend now so catch you all sometime Monday

Cheers guys, glad to see you like it.

Unfortunatly there is only 1 more vid I have, but ts just one of the new exhaust I have going on there and its not fixed to the car, I just wanted to hear the noise

Other than that its off the road currently having all the bodywork restored and the headgaskets done, along with a couple of other tweeks.

WellI might go down to the garage and work on it now. Bloody weather destroyed 3 Marquees and most of our tents so weekend was called to a finish early

Wow that looks awsome. I wanted to do that project but in an SW20 chassis so I would have room to do a twin turbo setup. That looks badass anyway.

what transmission did you use? Is it still a manual? And have you figured out axles yet?

It is an awesome engine, was good fun for the 6 months driving I had before the headgasket went. Funny how you take things off for 1 job but it then turns into a major re-do.

The transmission is a Manual MR2 Turbo E153 box (can't stand auto's personally), the axles are the turbo ones that came with the trans. The only alteration made was the supported bearing needed moving along the shaft so a new circlip groove was made and a spacer to sit behind the bearing. I think we had to move it about 3mm if memory serves me.

I do plan on turbo or SC sometime but I'll have to wait until funds allow me to buy the bits, maybe even a second engine to build up fully forged if I can find one cheap enough.
