k@n filter not near air vent?

when i bought my 91t, it came with a k@n cone filter kit already installed. but, i noticed it doesn't rest anywhere near the air vent. it sits at least 2 ft away from the vent kinda behind a big water line. the cone comes right off of the air flow meter. is this normal? i would think there would be some type of adapter tube that would bring the cone closer. should i be worrying about this?

Nah, you're fine.
The main purpose of the side vent is for air flow to keep the engine bay cool.
You don't want the filter too close or you may get water in your filter when it rains.
