MR2 advice

Hello MR2 Owners,

I have a couple of Toyotas that I really love and I have found a 87 MR2 for sell that has around 213K on the clock and is a stick, it's not the supercharged motor, but since there seems to be some form of a popular motor swap I am not that concerned about the actual motor in vehicle (as long as it runs).

My question is, since you guys know this animal so well, what advice can you offer me in buying this vehicle, as far as what to look for, is there any inherit issues I should be concerned with and keep inmind, any and all info you can offer will be hugely appreciated and should I decide to buy, I will definitly be back for performance and mod advice.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Check out Mr2OC site. Great site/ and all the info you will ever need. If the engine is gone (they will go 300,000 miles if taken care of), many opt for a 20v swap. Mk1 are fabulous cars.

The 3sgte swap is an awsome alternative. Great power to wieght ratio and alot of aftermarket support for the 3sgte.
Oh, and Welocme to The Nation
