Question speed sensor A

my MR2 check engine and ABS lites are both on and the speedo doesn't work. The code tells me its "speed sensor A". Is it the right side front and how could I check the sensor to see if it is operating?

95% of the time on the new ones if the code is set there is something wrong with the sensor. It's either bad or unplugged or the wiring has been broken. Unplug it from the hub and find the pin on the ECM where it plugs in at and do an Ohms test on each of the wires to check for breaks in them. If they test good I'd just replace the sensor. Or take it to a dealer and let them fix it. :P
