Bought a mr2 turbo with the following spec Blitz ECU
New Bailey's dumpvalve

XTD stage 4 paddle clutch (£750)
TRD power intercooler with fan
Tein super sport coilovers
New TRD shortshifter
New Fast road camshafts
Flywheel and crank lightened and balanced
Crankshaft regrind
Cylinder head refaced
Polished and ported head
New main bearings
New big end bearings and thrust washers
Complete top and bottom gasket set.
New water pump (£75.00)
New oil pump (£90.00)
New cam belt and tensioner set
New Magnecor HT Leads
New NGK Iridium cold spark plugs
New fuel filter
New oil filter
New injectors and seals
New rotor arm and dizzy cap
TRD 1.4mm steel head gasket and uprated streach bolts
New Samco boost pipes
New drive shafts
New 4 Branch manifold

when driving it home oil started coming out of the bov large amounts of oil like 4 litres after 300 miles so took it in to garage too see what happened and was told the pipe that takes boost pressure to the actuator is about 4 sizes too big meaning the boost is not opening the wastegate which caused the engine to pack in.

so now i have 2 options replace the engine or another rebuild and since i not too familar with turbos i dont know what to do so looking for suggestions of if it was your car what would you do i preferably dont want to spend too much but can allow for 1000 to 2000 sterling but def no more i want to be able to use the car every day covering around 100 miles a day and wont be taking it on a race trak bph not a big issue for me but would like around the 300bhp mark as long as car will not break my heart and cost me a fortune in the future i would be happy ,
so all you experts out there what would u do in a situation like this i have fallen in love with the car and its perfect in every other way apart from the engine
thanks in advance for comments

This part does not make sense to me, so maybe you can help clarify. I can see this being a problem if the line was not connected, or there was a break in the line somewhere, but too big of a vacuum line does not make sense.

Too big of a line means to me, that maybe the oil feed line for the turbo was too big/unrestricted. Maybe a combination of both?

Is the engine done for now, or is it still driving fine, with excess oil coming from the BOV/filling the intercooler piping?

Hopefully you catch this message, since it has been a while.

well garage told me engine was knackered then they said no compression in chamber three but car still starts and drives fine apart from the oil coming out of bov i took car off them and left it into another mechanic should be ready next week as was in no hurry with it so i will call the new mechanic tomorrow see what the story was with it.
but from what the first garage had told me i was very dubious of them.
thanks for your reply after all this time its much appreciated and i will keep u updated on the car

It's possible the seal in the turbo is leaking sending oil out the compressor side and out the BOV and thru the IC piping?

My thoughts exactly. If the turbo does not have a restrictor (or too large a restrictor), if the return line gets blocked/kinked, or if the oil seals in the turbo have gone; any of which can be a cause for oil to come out of the BOV without ever passing the catch can.

Are there any MR2 specialists in your area?
