Max Boost & Blitz Access ECU

Gen 1 91 GT Turbo with stock internals - currently running a Dual SBC turbo timer and stock ECU and can alter the boost 'on the fly' so to speak.

I have not taken it above 15psi as yet, and set max boost and warning to 1.1 bar (16 psi or so).

What is the safe limit for a stock 3sGTE - any opinions out there?

Also, I have a Blitz Access ECU. I have read that they boost low end torque enormously and improve fuel efficiency - has anyone got any advice regarding this ECU? I also hear they are hard to tune....

If you know of a tuner in Melbourne Australia - pls advise.

Cheers,

i had a blitz access on a gen3 3sgte at 19.4 psi. I loved it and it was fast. On a gen2 with stock internals i would not want to go past 16psi.

I'm told that the blitz access can not be re-tuned. It is a one time tune.

I don't recall if the fuel economy got better, my foot was down most of the time. I do know the low end responce was better for sure. Top end was great too. The 19.4 psi allowed me to put down 305 at the rear wheels.

Thanks! I was just curious. I didn't realize the CT20b boosted that high. If you put the
CT20b on a stock 2nd gen 3sgte, would the fuel system have to be upgraded or is the stock sytem adequate?
I realize at 19psi you would need to upgrade the IC.

From what I can remember about the CT20B's is that the motor will hold more than they will, they are smaller than the CT26's and meant to spool faster but have less boost. 15-17psi on stock internals and fuel, about the same for the turbo. The fuel can last to about 19psi but the rings on older motors tend to die at about 21psi. But I'm a OEM 91 Turbo guy, they might have slightly altered it on the newer gen motors.

You will reach the limit of the STOCK fuel system (gen2) at about 275-280rwhp. In Canada, we have access to 94 octane.

I run on 18-19 psi on a side mount intercooler on my gen2 with fuel upgrade....and 94 octane.

European Union

Ta for the feedback.

I have a side mount upgraded intercooler and improved fuel line also, and 98 octane is at every petrol station over here.

I think petrol delivery won't be a problem at all, but the stock GEN 1 internals (it's getting to 17 yrs old now!) - seems like 16 psi is about the limit.

The Blitz is not on the car - but I have it ready to instal and dyno.

Will give replies when i get before and afters - will be good to post some graphs to see the immediate changes.

Cheers,

You are probably seeing RON98...which is equivalent to 93 octane. You shouldn't boost more than 15-16 psi on the stock turbo.
