back again guys... the only diagrams I have in my manuals shows that the distributor has three wires to it... and an external ignitor.

now the distributor I've always had has 4 wires, and and extra connector for the internal ignitor.

but the harness I bought has the connectors for the 3 wire distributor, and external ignitor....

what I need is a diagram for the 4 wire distributor and internal ignitor.

anyone got it??

ok... well... I found a diagram showing that the 3SGTE has a four wire distributor... but it also still shows an external ignitor.

and that same diagram show the 5sfe \ 3sfe has a tri-wire...

so huh...

I'll figure something out.

another predicament... I'm comparing ECM digrams.. one shows a knock sensor, one doesn't.

my computer I recieved with this harness has the pin for the knock sensor... but no plug and no wire ? is it possible I don't need one?

I know the 91 3SGTE has a knock sensor, and yes you do need one.

I've been looking over the different diagrams... some show the 5sfe without a knock sensor... others show it with one. maybe I've purchased an older year computer and harness.

my 5sfe does NOT have a knock sensor...

and to clarify terminology... by distributors wires you mean the hard wires and NOT the plug wires...?

and by external igniter you mean the ignition module and NOT the coil, cause Toyota refers to the igniter as the module...

ok... sorry for the misdirection!

the wires leading to the distributor from the computer... my distributor had 4 : red, blue, black, yellow

and has no external ignition module. only a second connector on the distributor itself leading to the internal module.

my harness has 3 wires leading to the distributor, and an external ignition module....

anyone out there have a harness for a 93 NA auto with the items I've listed here??

I think that would be best.
