buying 1987 Toyota MR2

im a big noob in the mr2 thinking of buy one its a 1987.
and i was just wondering of what should i look out for maybe some of the pros, cons and some common promblems ? thanks for you time sry about the noob questions

probably the biggest thing is rust. the wheel arches like to hold dirt and stuff and are the most common problem with this body style.
when I got mine, I was lucky in that there wasn't much body rust. Also check the handbrake because they do freeze up every now and again. Everything else is just standard used car stuff. Belts, hoses, brakes, etc.

yeah i talked to the lady today and saw the car its for $2000.00 and she said it has like 200k + miles on it... interior littler rough ok cracks in dash of chorse outside looks good pant eh is it worth it? and plan on eng swap a little later ? let me know thx!

$2,000 is expensive lol

i would watch around on Craiglist..... only way that $2k is worth it is if they have paperwork for new tires, brakes, all tune-up parts, etc.....

Blue Book value for a 1st gen in good condition is around $1,100.00. So by your description, I would say it needs to be less than $800.00
Just FYI for you to use as base pricing.
