98% decided to buy 2002 MR2

I will be test-driving the car tomorrow in Montreal (keeping my fingers crossed), but did have a few "practical" questions to ask.

1. This is going to be my daily commuter (all year long), so with winter approaching - I'm hoping that a really good set of winter tires will be fine enough. Is that a fair assumption? (living in Toronto)
2. Just how impractical is the storage space? Some people say you can pack two overnight bags and you will be fine... true?
3. I already have a Solara so I know how reliable Toyota's are - is there any thing "special" I should look over tomorrow when I see the car? (i.e. engine, rods, etc.)
4. This car has the tip-tronic transmission - any feedback on it's reliability?
5. Just how big is the blind-spot with the top up? My wife will occasionaly be driving this car and I want to ensure she will be able to safely.
thx so much!
ps. I'm really exited!!!

I guess by the Tranny you mentioned it's a Spyder. Not good for snow-regardless of the tires..
Storage space is almost nil, but you can fit over night bags in the storage behind the seats. They're great on gas-even at 80mph.
It will be a good DD-except for winter.
There are 2 really bad blind spots-one on each side where the convertible top slopes down from the top to the quarter panels. Bad for reverse and changing lanes.
I have heard many bad things about the auto trans you're talking about.
