Gen1 Got an AW11 today

Hey guys. I'm on here a lot on the Supra forum for my 88 Supra. It don't run right now but I wont get into that. I've been sharing my girlfriend's Explorer with her but its tricky with her working nights and having paramedic school twice a week 40 minutes away, and me working days. I browsed through Craigslist and found an MR2. I've always liked the AW11's and lately have seen them thinking to myself "Man, I really want one of those." Well, it was finally my day.

I finally got myself an '88 MR2

I have a few questions though.

1. My headlights will go down partially then go up. You can hear the motor. I think it's the light selector switch. Are you supposed to push it to pop the lights up and vice versa? Sometimes the lights will flicker off too. While driving they sorta dim out and stuff. Why?

2. I found it's the right axle seal is bad. I already got one from Toyota and it'll be here Tuesday. Not hard to replace, right?

3. Any common problems with the cars? Mine has an engine in it with roughly 60k miles on it, but 215 miles on the clock. It runs great, but the thermostat is bad (already got one) so when it was cold, it studdered and the check engine light came on, but would go off. Later we found that 2 wires were loose, Cylinder 3 and the ignitor. Hasn't acted up since.

There are a few other things that i'm blanking on. Enough talk. Pictures!!!

Nice car. Looks clean.

For the headlights, do they open properly after going down? It could just be the arm adjustment (under a red plastic cap)
